FAQ's

Can I visit?
Yes, please email to arrange an appointment hire@thepropbank.com. However, all items are online to ensure you are able to be efficient with your time. Great care has been taken in ensure each item has all relevant information listed in terms of colour correctness (with all screens there's a degree of variance), size and condition. Hours 8am-8pm

How do I know if an item is available?
It works like a hotel booking system. Once you choose the duration of hire, start date and add to cart, if the item is not available a 'OUT WORKING' message will pop up if there is any conflicting dates.

Can I split an order/hire chronologically?  Yes, but you need to create two separate orders, one for each period. For example, should you wish to split hire  items over one, two or three weeks, you will need to create a new order for each duration even if it's for the same item. 

Are items Licensed for use? Pre-approved licensed usage are listed where applicable. For vintage and midcentury items designer names/details are listed in the items descriptions if known. The onus is on the person hiring to ensure all permissions are granted. 

How can I ask questions about an item? Should you have a questions regarding any item, take note of the name or send a screenshot of the item to hire@thepropbank.com or message 07761 680703 and we'll respond as soon as we're able, we aim to do this within 24hrs.

What is BY REQUEST? COMING SOON
This will be a selection of furniture and accessories available from our wider network of contacts and contributors. It enables us to increase the choice of unique character pieces for hire. We will always endeavour to make the items available for collection and return from The Prop Bank studio in N1, however, should this not be possible collections/returns will be from an address within the M25. 

How do I have a item featured on 'BY REQUEST'? Simply send us an email, hire@thepropbank.com, for information. 

Is there a minimum hire fee? 
£20. 

Can I hire and collect on the weekend or public holiday?
Yes. This is do-able should you require collection or return. Please email prior to hire for confirmation stating dates and times. A surcharge of £50 will be applied with a 2hr window of collection and returns. 

How to confirm the order? Once items are placed in your basket and paid for you shall receive an email confirmation. 

How to I know my order is ready for collection? You will receive an email notifying you that your order is ready for collection. This will sent 24hrs-48hrs prior to your start date.

How do I pay?
Online via PayPal. Please note funds must have cleared prior to despatch.

What type of insurance covers the props? 
'All risk photography insurance' will cover hire of all props. Please confirm with your insurer 'hired props' is covered under policy.  Each item shows a 'risk value' this is the replacement cost charge to the hiree for lost or damaged items.  We ask for you to inspect the condition of the item upon delivery. Should there be any alternation from the condition seen online, please notify us immediately. Should you require insurance please contact Williamson Carson. 

Am I able to extend hire when I already have it?
Possibly. If you visit online and see it's available, proceed with the hire process as normal. Should it show as not available, please call and we'll see what we can do. We do ask that you are mindful of the next person who may be counting on the item. 

Something is damaged/lost/stolen what do I do?
Notify us ASAP by email attaching images. 

  • If damaged: DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REPAIR. A quote will be forwarded and your card will be debited. 
  • If lost or stolen: Cost of replacement as per listed RISK VALUE will be charged to you card of payment.
